Equipment set up 1 (35kw)

This equipment is set up for an 8 x 4m pool with spa internal of pool.  As you can see there is no gas heater for the spa.  We have installed the 35kw CHR Heat Pump to run through the Filtration allowing us to heat the Pool and Spa with a touch of a button.  CHR 35kw Heat Pump, will heat an 8 x 4m pool in six hours to reach 30 degrees along with heating spa to 39 degrees in 2 hours.  Wow.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

In general, heat pumps draw heat or cold from exterior outdoor air, ground, or water and transfer it indoors for warming or cooling. They are somewhat less expensive from an operational expense point of view. A heat pump graded as 100,000BTU will averagely consume around 5,000 watts, or 5KW every hour. Using it eight hours a day will consume 40KW—a kilowatt of electricity costs anywhere between $.15 to $.20 cents per hour. The rates will vary depending on the utility provider. Therefore, a heat pump running for an hour will cost approximately $1 and $8 power over 8 hours of usage.

Above Formula - Low yearly usage – 4 months per year (112 days @ 8 hours per day) total costing $896 – Will only reach up to 25-27 degrees.

Above Formula - Medium yearly usage – 6 months per year (168 days @ 8 hours per day) total costing $1,344 - Will only reach up to 25-27 degrees.

Above Formular - High yearly usage – 8 months per year (224 days @ 8 hours per day) total costing $1,792 - Will only reach up to 25-27 degrees.

CHR 33.9kw will cut all these heating cost, duration to heat in half along with increasing total heat by 30%.

CHR Formula - Low yearly usage – 4 months per year (112 days @ 4 hours per day) total costing $448 – Will only reach up to 31-33 degrees.

CHR Formula - Medium yearly usage – 6 months per year (168 days @ 4 hours per day) total costing $672 - Will only reach up to 31-33 degrees.

CHR Formular - High yearly usage – 8 months per year (224 days @ 4 hours per day) total costing $896 - Will reach up to 31-33 degrees.

Old way to determine a heat pump size. A small pool (10000-20000 litres) a 13KWh heat pump will do the job. For medium pools (20000-30000 litres) a 15-18 KWh will be sufficient. For pools (30000-40000 litres), a 21-23 KWh heat pump is ideal. For large pools (40000-50000 litres), a 28-32 KWh heat pump is ideal These values, however, vary depending on the temperature of your region. To narrow down on the exact heat pump you need, you require 0.00116 KWh of power to heat one litre. Knowing your pool size and the degrees you want to raise your pool temperature by, you can accurately determine the heat pump you require.

CHR heat pumps against normal heat pumps:

Depending on the month of the year you will need to run the heat pump for 6-8 hours per day with the formula above (all depending on the pool size and Temperature of pool etc. Starting with our 33.9kw heat pump this will cater for all pools up to 50,000 litres. This will save on running costs for all the pool sizes above. 1-2 sizes greater than required will save on running costs, heat your pool 50% faster and heat your pool by up to 30% hotter.

The location of the heat pump will, in a great way, affect how efficiently your heat pump will work. Ensure that your heat pump is close enough to your filter. It is also vital that you ensure that there are no obstructions near the heat pump. Give it at least 300mm from rear, 300mm from either side of unit and 1.5m in front of unit. Doing so will ensure that there is sufficient air that gets into the heat pump. You can add a heat pump though the filtration system, this is common as an after thought of an established equipment set up when a heat pump was not allowed for, very normal for older pool set ups. You could also replace the suction and return from your solar system set up, simply disconnect the solar and add the heat pump as a replacement. Lastly, if it has been planned prior to installing equipment you can add a separate suction and return solely for the heat pump so it can be ran independently.
Swimming pool water passes through the filter when the pool is being used to get rid of any dirt or debris. It is during this process that the water for a heated pool gets warmed up. What happens is, the heating pump takes in warm air from the outside and turns it into warm gas. As the warm gas passes through the pump's coils, it increases the heat in the compressor. As the water passes through this compressor, the energy is transferred into the water. The now warmed water returns to the pool and helps heat the water in the pool as well. The process repeats itself until the pool water is warm enough. This is a quicker process the bigger the heater (higher KW) therefore drawing less power saving running costs.

Water flow pump is hard wired to the heat pump, so yes, the water pump turns off once the heat
pump has reached its desired heat and turns off. CHR Heat Pump will talk to the water pump to
turn off once heat pump turns off. This is the only unit on the market to hard wire water pump to
heat pump to talk to each other. No added data cables required to have the water flow pump and
Heat pump talk to each other.

  • CHR is one of the most effective Heat Pumps on the Australian market. The
efficiency of a Heat Pump is measured by the COP rating. The higher the rating the
more heat it makes per KW of power it draws. CHR Inverter 35.7kw unit has COP
as high as an astonishing 16.3
  • Competively priced
  • CHR ranks among the quietest on the Australian market with sound ratings as low as 38.6dB at one meter.
  • CHR is built to withstand harsh Australian conditions and does not require
    protection of a roof.
  • Quality components, advanced technology and thorough QC produces superior
    reliability and performance.
